Manuel Gutierrez co-founded FabLab Sevilla in 2009. A brand new Digital Fabrication Laboratory focusing on the development of Design & New Building Technologies from the possibilities of Digital tools. A CAD/CAM research facility which has been implemented into the core courses at the School of Architecture of Seville and organizes workshops to train awareness to professionals on the capabilities that Digital Manufacturing and Prototyping offer to Building Industry and Architectural Design. FabLab Sevilla is part of MIT FabLab Network
In 2017, he obtained his PhD on digital design and fabrication at the University of Seville, School of Architecture in collaboration with Sci-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) and the sponsorship of RJC Builders, Inc. His PhD was awarded through the publication of “DIGITAL90. Digital Design and Fabrication at the Turn of the 20th Century. Theory, Practice and Schools of Architecture”
